Welcome to My New Virtual Home

Hello there, and welcome to the brand new page for my business. In an attempt to improve my work and get closer to existing and new clients, I’ve decided to make a new virtual home for my small business.

For those that don’t know me, my name is Boris and I’m a specialist in voice-overs in Croatian. During my career, I’ve also done some work for clients in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. I’m based in Eastern Croatia and the largest city in the region, Osijek.

Ever since my teenage days, I’ve been close to audience through drama sections in my elementary school and highschool. I’ve also done stage hosting before I was 18. Merely half a year after highschool, I applied at the audition for the brand new local radio that was just starting to operate in my hometown.

Needless to say, I was successfull at the audition and started working there in early 1996. During 20 years of work at the station, I’ve gathered a vast experience in program hosting, reading commercials, doing fieldwork, writing news… During that time, I’ve started collaborating with the local video agency that needed a good voice and over several years of cooperation gathered much needed knowledge.

In the late 2000s I’ve first noticed online localization directories and agencies and started applying, sending my resumes and demos. That helped me in finding new clients, further improving my understanding of the job and the market itself.

In 2015, I’ve quit the job on the radio and several months later my small business, Vox Aurea, was born. I’ve successfully survived the first few years with my previous business partners and the new ones I got once I dedicated myself to being a full-time voice-over talent.

Although I wasn’t working for the local radio anymore, I’ve kept working as a journalist for ICT Business project. It has grown from a Croatian tech news site to a small group of several news sites in Croatian and English, TV show, and, finally a full TV channel available in Croatia. I’ve also continued hosting events on-stage keeping myself in shape of various tasks.

In the meantime, I joined a local wine promotion non-profit association, Dekanter, became its President, and got involved in the organization of one of the best wine events in Croatia – WineOS. All of that helped my work by gathering new contacts and improving my organizational, consulting, and other business skills.

After almost ten years of considering getting into branding myself and my business, I finally decided to upgrade with a dedicated webpage and new social media profiles to keep you updated. I’ll also share my thoughts and discoveries in a blog section that I hope you’ll find interesting and informative. Keep in touch and let me know of your insights, ideas, suggestions, critiques, and helpful tips.
